A aboriginal of Andalucia, Spain, acoustic guitar ace Juan Martín is a professional of what Spanish musicians refer to as nuevo flamenco -- that is, flamenco that is contemporary and expansive kind of than completely traditional in its approaching. Nuevo flamenco is not straight-ahead flamenco whatsoever more than than jazz-rock unification is straight-ahead jazz; rather of being carbon paper copies of flamenco's traditionalists, Spain's nuevo flamenco artists have adjust out to spread out flamenco's borders. That isn't to say that Martín (whose last name is marked Mar-teen) hasn't been touched by flamenco's traditionalists -- actually, straight-ahead gypsy dancing and the Spanish classical guitar tradition make been on-going sources of brainchild to Martín, whose major influences have included Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, and the majuscule Andrés Segovia.

Simply Martín's influences don't stoppage at either traditional gypsy dancing or Spanish classical guitar. While Martín is flamenco-oriented, he is non a flamenco purist -- instead, the broad-minded musician/composer views gypsy dancing as something that can buoy be combined with anything from jazz to Brazilian samba, Afro-Cuban salsa, and Argentinean tango. Latin America, in fact, is a major source of intake for Martín -- and that willingness to merge Spanish and Latin American esthetics is reflected in song titles like "Republic of Cuba y España" ("Republic of Cuba and Spain") and "Bossa Rumba." Martín's production (which is largely merely non altogether subservient) has something for Paco de Lucía and Tomatito aficionados, simply it too has something for Joe Pass admirers as well as fans of the tardy Brazilian guitar virtuoso Laurindo Almeida (wHO was one of the first guitarists to combine samba with nerveless jazz and is among Martín's non-Spanish influences).

Martín began building a catalog in the '80s, when he recorded a few albums for RCA's Novus label (including Through the Moving Window and 1986's Painter in Sound). Novus was essentially a jazz pronounce in the '80s and early '90s, just fifty-fifty though Martín wasn't jazz in the exacting sense, he had sufficiency nothingness influences to go in -- and in any case, Martín has, over the years, crossed paths with jazz greats ranging from tenor and treble saxophonist Wayne Shorter to Brazilian isaac Merrit Singer Flora Purim and her percussion-playing married man, Airto Moreira. Martín provided some albums for the Alex label in the early to mid-'90s, and the former '90s and early 2000s launch him transcription extensively for the independent Flamenco Vision label. By early 2005, Martín had at least 16 albums in his catalogue.

Kanye West booed off stage at Bonnaroo festival

It's not something a super-sized ego like Kanye West's is used to. But after arriving onstage over an hour-and-a-half late at Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee at the weekend, the rapper was pelted with glowsticks and jeered by the crowd. Problems with his Glow In The Dark stage set were blamed for the delay, which resulted in Kanye taking to the stage at 4.30am to cries of "Kanye sucks!" A spokesman for the festival claimed the set problems occurred because of the time it took to dismantle Pearl Jam's set, which had overrun by an hour prior to West's slot.

In other Bonnaroo-related news, Metallica stormed through their Friday night slot to widespread praise, while MIA claimed her performance would be her "last show ever". However, in an interview with Nymag.com following the gig, the rapper made it clear her retirement wasn't permanent, saying: "I'm canceling because I feel like physically I just have to stop for a second." MIA said instead she would concentrate on writing new material, as well as some domestic activities. "Now and again you finally just want to be gardening and get your nails done or something like that."

Victoria Beckham Boobs At Fashion Awards

Victoria Beckham gave Sarah Jessica Parker a run for her money in the flamboyant fashion stakes at last night’s Council of Fashion Designer of America awards.

The former Spice Girl and self-proclaimed style icon attended the event wearing one of Marc Jacobs’ more eye-catching creations – but it wasn’t just the plague of chiffon hearts that made up her mini dress that was turning heads.

From certain angles, guests including Kim Cattrall, Hilary Duff, Ashley Olsen and P-Diddy were faced with more of Posh than they had probably bargained for, complete with surgery scars.
On the plus side, she did manage a half-smile at one point, which kind of suited her.

Victoria presented the industry’s top honour to Calvin Klein, alongside pal Eva Mendes and Maggie Gyllenhaal at the event.

It's Whitney vs. Britney in X'mas 2008

London (ANI): Now that Britney Spears seems to have got her act together, the singer is heading for a head to head album battle with pop's ultimate fallen diva - Whitney Houston. After the poor reception for her most recent album Blackout, label bosses thought their wayward artist had blown it. But impressive demos from recent studio work re-ignited their faith and they are confident she can crush ageing Whitney in a titanic Christmas LP scrap. "Britney has been on fire in the studio of late. During recording sessions for the last album she was consumed by her chaotic private life," The Sun quoted a label source, as saying. "But she is determined to make a triumphant comeback. Top brass have been amazed by the quality of tracks they've heard. "Whitney is set for another relaunch at the same time later in the year. They're determined Britney will come out on top," the source added

De Taali Music Review

Even though there was a six month gap between Om Shanti Om and http://entertainment.oneindia.in/music/reviews/2008/Tashan, it has been an array of musical releases for Vishal-Shekhar. Bhoothnath followed http://entertainment.oneindia.in/music/reviews/2008/Tashan and now De Taali has also hit the stands. After a very good (http://entertainment.oneindia.in/music/reviews/2008/Tashan) and a plain average (Bhoothnath) affair, one has good expectations from De Taali primarily because the film boasts of a young and energetic cast of Ritiesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Ayesha Takia and Rimi Sen. Since the quartet has usually been associated with films comprising of music that is fun and peppy, one expects the same from De Taali as well, especially with Vishal Dadlani himself doubling up as the film's lyricist. Well, the expectation is indeed met as De Taali turns out to be an enjoyable album! 20 seconds into 'Everybody Put Your Hands Together' and you can find your neck swaying with the song's beats.
